What to Bring to a Seoul Club — A Five-Item Checklist
Last updated 2 min readWritten by the Club ACE Seoul team
What do you need for a night at a Gangnam club? Passport, a card that works, a little cash, a charged phone and your address in Korean — the checklist from Club ACE Seoul.
Quick answer
The list is short: your passport, a card that works abroad, a little cash, a charged phone, and your hotel address saved in Korean. With those five, nothing about a night in Gangnam catches you out.
Passport — nothing substitutes for it
Foreign guests have ID checked at the door, and neither a photo on your phone nor a photocopy will do. Leaving it in the hotel safe and finding out at the entrance is the single most common mistake we see.
Keep it in an inside pocket or a small zipped bag so it cannot go missing. A reserved table gives you somewhere to leave your things, which makes the night easier to move around.
Cards and cash
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, UnionPay and Korean cards are accepted, so there is no need to change a large amount before you travel. Entry is ₩20,000 per person.
A little cash still helps for the taxi home or a convenience-store stop. Late-night fares run higher than daytime, so keeping a few tens of thousands of won on you is worth it.
Phone and the address you are going back to
If you plan to stay late, a power bank earns its place. Your map, your ride app and your chat with us all live on the same phone.
Save your hotel address in Korean. When you flag a taxi at 4am, showing the screen beats pronouncing it. Ours is 강남대로 597.
What the dress code means for packing
Smart casual or above. Shorts, slippers, sportswear and caps may be refused. If your day is spent sightseeing, pack one pair of evening shoes so the door is never a question.
In winter, coats are the awkward part. A table gives you somewhere to put them along with your bags — tell us your date and group size in chat and we will sort out that night.
FAQ
Q. Will a photocopy of my passport work?
A. No. ID is checked at the door and the physical passport is required.
Q. Do I need cash?
A. Not strictly — cards are accepted — but a little cash is handy for the taxi home. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB and UnionPay all work.
Q. How much is entry?
A. ₩20,000 per person for everyone — there's no separate rate for women.
Q. Can I wear trainers?
A. The code is smart casual or above, and shorts, slippers, sportswear and caps may be refused. Packing one pair of evening shoes removes the risk.
